2026 Program Overview

The Oceanside Junior Lifeguard Program offers individuals ages 9-17 the opportunity to learn beach safety and ocean lifesaving skills from experienced Oceanside Beach Lifeguards. Junior Lifeguard daily activities include education in beach and ocean safety, running and swimming activities, beach games, surfing, and competitions. Junior Lifeguards will also have the opportunity to learn about tower guarding, rescue techniques, boat rescues, marine biology, oceanography, first aid, and CPR.

Location & Schedule

Junior Guards meet at 1304 North Pacific St., Oceanside, CA 92054, the Oceanside Harbor Beach, behind lifeguard tower 14, across from the boat launch ramp. Session 1 & 3 meet Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm and Session 2 & 4 meet Tuesday and Thursday's from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Please bring your lunch, plenty of water, sunscreen, and a towel. Session 1 & 2 competition date: June 29 (extra day for session 2) Session 3 & 4 competition date: July 27 (extra day for session 4)
