On Saturday, May 13 from noon to 4:00 p.m., the Oceanside Parks and Recreation Department is teaming up with the Poseiden Foundation and the Prince Memorial Park skating community to hold a dedication ceremony and unveil the new Prince Memorial Skate Park monument. The ceremony portion of the afternoon will start at 2:00 p.m.
Prince Memorial Park -- one of the best skateparks in San Diego county -- was renamed in honor of Michael "Prince" Johnson, who was considered by many as one of the most accomplished skateboarders from Oceanside, and was viewed as a friend and role model to younger skaters.
