OPD is partnering with the San Diego District Attorney’s Office and the Oceanside Unified School District to host a community overdose awareness and prevention event. The event will be held at the OHS Performing Arts Center on Tuesday, May 16, from 5:30-8:00 pm. Presenters will include medical experts from the County of San Diego, representatives from the Oceanside Police and Fire Departments, OUSD Superintendent Dr. Julie A. Vitale, and parents of children who have been lost to overdoses. Narcan will be provided at the event free of charge, and training will be provided on how to administer it.
Spanish translation will be provided. The event is free of charge, and the entire community is invited to attend. The subject matter is serious. Thus, the recommended ages are middle school children and older. We are encouraging parents with children of all ages to attend to be informed. We encourage all who plan to attend to RSVP, but it is not required. To RSVP, please visit : bit.ly/STOPODS
