The Library Board works to support and promote the mission of the Oceanside Public Library; To engage, inform, connect, and inspire. The Board manages operations, makes rules, sets policy, monitors expenditures, authorizes payments for the Library, makes Library budget recommendations to the City Council, and ensures Library services meet the needs of Oceanside's diverse community. The Library Board of Trustees is appointed by the Mayor, with consent of the City Council.
