The City of Oceanside Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a meeting to discuss the revision of the Facility Rental Packet, including the user group classification that is used to allocate Oceanside fields, gymnasiums, courts, swimming pools, and Parks and Recreation Department facilities. The Parks and Recreation Commission Standing Committee started the process and the community helped to develop values and a vision for sports in Oceanside.
Representatives from organizations that use Oceanside facilities are invited to participate in the process to revise the Facility Rental Packet. Four meetings are scheduled.
The first meeting is on January 11 at 4 pm in the City Council Chambers. There are two topics that will be discussed:
- Determine whether Oceanside should re-institute the Athletic Federation or develop a Sports Council, including membership requirements and its role.
- Determine what should be the percentage of residents for a group to be considered a resident group.
